Dharma Theerthan

An MG University rank holder in Veena, Dharma Theerthan began his tryst with music under the tutelage of Archanananda Swami of Puranatukara Sri Ramakrishna Ashram. He went on to do his graduation in Veena and masters in Veena and Mridangam from the RLV College of Music and Fine Arts Tripunithura.
His Veena teachers include, Devi Vasudevan, Prof. Sushila C.J. (Rtd Principal RLV), Prof. Rajalakshmi (Principal RLV). He is a disciple of Sheelavathi, Baiju N Rajith and Padma Varma.
Dharmatheerthan has also learnt tabla under the discipleship of Ustad Fayaz Khan and Prof. Nikhil Bhagat. He is also proficient in Carnatic music and Hindustani music and has performed in several concerts, sangeetha sabhas in main temples such as the Sreepoornathrayeesa Sangeetha Sabha and the Kerala Kalamandalam, etc.
Dharma Theerthan has also worked with leading music directors like Dakshinamurthy Swamy, Jerry Amaldev, T.S. Radhakrishnan for music albums and film soundtracks.
Dharma Theerthan has also shared the stage with Prof. T.M Abdul Aziz, Tripunithura Radhakrishnan, Trichy Harikumar, Nagai Sriram Chennai, Attukal Balasubramaniam, Edapalli Ajith, Thiruviza Viju S and Anand. He has also worked with Sumaro Symphony, the largest instrumental music program in Kerala and with the Symphony of Cinematic Singers presented by Mr. Stephen Devassi.
Dharma Theerthan has also accompanied acclaimed dancers such as Navya Nair, Padmashree Kalamandalam Kshemavati, Padmashree Kalamandalam Gopi, Kalaratna Kalamandalam Sugandi for their performances. He has also been honoured with the fellowship for young artists by the Kerala government and is serving as a teacher in the department of Veena in RLV College of Music and Fine Arts.
