K.B Prabaljith joined the Kalamandalam in 1989 and his first guru was Kalamandalam C. Sivadas. Later, he trained under Kalamandalam P.K Krishnakumar, Kalamandalam M. Jayaprakash and M.R Venkatesh Master. Even though he completed his course only in 1995, he started playing for programs since 1992.

Prabaljith has gained his style and technique from Master Venkatesh who trained him and shaped him to be an apt dance accompaniment under the Gurukula tradition. From 2004 to 2009, he worked as a temporary lecturer in Kerala Kalamandalam. He later worked as a temporary lecturer in the Department of Dance at the Kaladi Sanskrit University from 2012 to 2017.
