Navya the Dancer
Navya Nair (Dhanya Veena), is a leading South Indian actress who mainly works in Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada film industry. She is best known for her roles in the Malayalam movies like Ishtam (2001), Kalyanaraman (2002), Nandanam (2002) etc. and the Kannada blockbuster movie Gaja (2008). Navya Nair is a two-time recipient of the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for her performances in the movies Nandanam, Kanne Madanguka and Saira. She received the Kalaimamani award in 2006, the highest civilian honour in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.
Navya born to Mr. Raju Janardhana Pillai and Ms. Veena on 14th October 1985, she was brought up in Cheppad, a small village in Harippad in Alappuzha District. She did her primary schooling at Bethany Balikamadam High School, Nangiarkulangara and her secondary education was at M.S.M Secondary School. Being a fulltime actress and a dedicated dancer, Navya Nair holds B.A in Literature and an M.B.A in Finance too.
